Barnet Council rushes to rubber stamp the sale of Hendon FC to developers just 24 hours after it is asked to think again
Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 10:17AM On Tuesday night Barnet Council's powerful Business Management OSC voted across party political lines to force the Cabinet Resources Committee to think carefully again about the sale of former Hendon FC land. This sale is also the subject of a judicial review in the High Court, so all eyes are on the Council to be on best behaviour. Below is the 50 minute examination of the sale at the OSC.
Almost exactly 24 hours later, just as the Council had managed to rush out a new report and the minutes from the meeting of the night before, the Cabinet Resources Committee met. It was without it's Chairman, Cllr Dan Thomas, who has been at the forefront of pushing this sale through who, we understand, is on holiday. So with the Leader of the Council installed as Chairman the Committee began it's serious deliberation which lasted 7 minutes. The Committee then went into private session for another 2 minutes or so.
