Hendon FC land sale causes furrowed brows and bemused stares at Cabinet Resources Committee
Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 12:11PM Last night Barnet Council's Cabinet Resources Committee decided to sell the Hendon FC site to what it considered the highest bidder (but not the highest cash offer) of a property developer, overlooking a bid for a needed new school. The item was not listed on the agenda and was rushed out, as apparently 'urgent' on the same day at the meeting.
The papers for the meeting are here
The Committee was brought to life by too dramatic interventions by Councillors Jack Cohen, who spoke about issues surrounding the companies concerned and Councillor Hugh Rayner who was being asked to permit this decision to be rushed through without scrutiny.

The Council were served with an injunction by the High Court by the alternate bidders for the site and have now been granted a full judicial review of the decision.
Below is the footage of the previous decision from February that landed Barnet Council in court.
